Although ice hotels are nothing new, Sweden's historic ICEHOTEL will be the first to open a permanent frozen hotel that will stay open all year long. Each year, a new hotel has been built and stays open during winter months. In the near future however, a permanent sub-zero ice experience will be open for business.
The proposed plan includes a bar, art gallery and suites for overnight stay, all made from ice. The new addition to the ICEHOTEL will be designed with sustainable energy in mind. Because the region receives sunlight for 100 days and nights, the hotel will harness this solar power and use it to keep the hotel ice cold all year round. If ice hotels are on your bucket list, this one will be open all year long starting December 2016.
