The Vertex is a hybrid drone that is capable of flying speedily like a fixed-wing aircraft or hovering in place like a quadcopter.
This aircraft is equipped with a quadrant of independently tilting propellers, steerable and controllable wheeled landing gear and wings that can be removed for quadcopter mode. The wings can even be swapped out for longer wings to achieve more efficient fixed-wing flight.
Users can transition between quadcopter and fixed-wing mode using a switch on their radio remote control. This switch causes the propellers to rotate from a vertical orientation to a horizontal one. The Vertex is capable of flying at any stage during that transition, so it's never in danger of falling out of the sky.
Drones are going to become an increasingly ubiquitous presence in our lives. With its amazing ability to transition between a hovering drone and a speeding one, the Vertex hybrid drone opens up all kinds of interesting possibilities.
