Emotional Font Photography

Human Type by Beatrix Gevigney is Inspired by Different Expressions

Art and design is very subjective and the Human Type series captures that sentiment perfectly. It's a stunning typography inspired by the expressions of humans. Models were painted with the letters of the English alphabet and their emotional state dictated how the letters were photographed and then translated as an actual font.

Created by Beatrix Gevigney, the Human Type series was inspired by a Victor Hugo quote, “The form is the content that rises to the surface.” A unique way to create a new font from scratch, it would be safe to assume that each letter would look completely different depending on the face and the expression used. Yet that is not actually the case at all.
