The Human Animal photo series is aptly named. It's not only creating human-animal hybrids. Instead, it captures the human emotion and expression in animal faces. Whether that means a wise look of an old dog or the surprised reaction of a cat, there are many ways in which people interpret (or misinterpret) such expressions.
Shot by Belgian photographer Vincent Legrange, the Human Animal photo series purposely hones in on these adorable qualities. He says, ‘‘Today most people photograph just people, but only a few photograph animals. I tried to photograph the animals as humans, depicting their emotion and human-like characteristics in a sombre way.’’ To achieve this is quite the task and talent since pets are prone to sitting patiently for a portrait.
