The Honda Mean Mower has broken a Guinness World Record to become the world’s fastest lawnmower. This lean, mean lawnmowing machine marked the new record by setting an average speed of 187.60 km/h, comfortably breaking the previous record of 140 km/h.
In order to claim the Guinness World Record for being the fastest lawnmower, lawnmowers must not only set the fastest average speed but also look like a lawnmower and be able to cut grass. The Honda Mean Mower satisfied all three requirements on its way to the lawnmower speed record books.
The Mean Mower was based on a Honda HF260 Lawn Tractor. A new high carbon steel chassis was added to provide a strong but lightweight platform, and a 1,000 cc engine from a Honda VTR Firestorm motorbike was installed to feed the lawnmower’s need for speed.
