Artful Sculptural Bistros

Holy Carrot by Studio Toogood Reworks a Spitalfields Restaurant

Holy Carrot by Studio Toogood is a restaurant interior in Spitalfields, London, designed as a materially driven bistro within a former bank building. The project was developed by Studio Toogood, led by Faye Toogood, for restaurateur Irina Linovich and chef Daniel Watkins. The space translates the restaurant’s plant-led menu into a physical environment using raw and tactile materials such as linoleum, canvas, wood, and tile.

The layout combines dining, lounge, and kitchen areas within a single open room, anchored by a large hand-painted mural featuring oversized mushrooms and figures. Custom furniture and sculptural elements are integrated throughout, including paper-based lighting, canvas curtains, and textured seating. The material palette draws from the surrounding Georgian architecture, using deep brown tones and muted finishes across surfaces.
