McDonald’s is adding two McCafé drinks that fold holiday flavors into familiar sodas and energy drinks. Frosted Cranberry Sprite and Frosted Cranberry Red Bull pair the base drink with cranberry-orange syrup, then finish with cold foam and cranberry sprinkles.
Each drink starts with a choice of Sprite or Red Bull, and the Red Bull version comes in regular or sugarfree form. That gives the lineup two paths: a softer citrus-soda build or a more caffeinated option with the same seasonal topping treatment.
The November timing, expected shortly after Halloween, gives McCafé a quick seasonal reset before winter menu fatigue sets in. Turning mass-market beverages into layered, dessert-like drinks also broadens what a fast-food beverage can look like without adding a completely new format.

What's Driving This Trend
- Seasonal Soda Customization
- Limited-time syrup, foam, and garnish combinations create room for familiar soft drinks to become premium holiday menu items with low operational complexity.
- Energy Drink Menu Hybrids
- Fast-food chains can blur the line between café beverages and energy drinks by offering caffeinated bases with dessert-style flavor systems and customizable sugar profiles.
- Dessert-like Beverage Builds
- Layered textures such as cold foam and festive toppings position everyday drinks as indulgent treats, expanding perceived value without requiring entirely new product platforms.
Who This Affects Most
- Fast Food
- Seasonal beverage extensions give quick-service restaurants a flexible way to refresh menus and increase add-on purchases between major food promotions.
- Beverage
- Partnership-friendly formats around branded sodas and energy drinks open opportunities for beverage companies to enter premium, limited-edition foodservice occasions.
- Foodservice Technology
- Menu systems, ordering apps, and kitchen workflows can support greater drink personalization as chains introduce modular ingredients across multiple beverage bases.
