New Vincent Van Gogh Revealed by Scientists

 - Jul 31, 2008
A hidden Vincent Van Gogh painting has been revealed by scientists at a Dutch University. The scientists have revealed the image of a woman beneath his famous work, 'Patch of Grass'.

The scientists discovered the new Vincent Van Gogh using X-ray florescence. Joris Dik of the Delft University of Technology explained, “We can make a virtual 3-dimensional model of the painting and start to peel off all the layers one by one. Then we get a nice detailed view of the hidden face.”

Art historians are excited by the news, which provides more clues about Vincent Van Gogh's development as a painter.
