Entrepreneur Alissa Lentz recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a line of gender-neutral backpacks called 'Hero New York.' Not only are the bags ultra-stylish, but they also come with a set of unique trading cards that inspire children through the stories of influential historical figures.
Hero New York is a line of unisex backpacks and pencil cases that are meant to instill confidence and inspire greatness. The bags come in eye-catching prints as well as two designs for elementary school or high school needs. Not only are the stylish backpacks gender-neutral, but they also come with collectible cards that tell the story of influential figures such as artist Frida Khalo, abolitionist Frederick Douglass and mathematician Ada Lovelace. As Lentz explains, the trading cards are meant to show children that "heroes come from all walks of life, all around the world. We want to show that you can make history, no matter where you’ve come from."
