Not every child is lucky enough to get a bag (new or used) to tote their books to and from school; the Help Desk by Aarambh, a not-for-profit organization based in New Bombay, addresses this problem as well as another common one in third world countries. It is a convertible book bag that transforms into a desk once unpacked at school. This is achieved by the use of a common, eco-friendly material: cardboard.
The Help Desk by Aarambh not only finds a way to reuse carton boxes from retail outlets, corporate offices, and recycling centers, it is an economical solution to a common problem. Currently distributed in the rural areas of Maharashtra, children are able to study more comfortably.
