Helen Lee's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection was presented at the 2012 Shanghai Fashion Week. The event has drawn in the regions best, and it is no wonder that the Lasalle International Design College graduate made it on to the prestigious roster.
In contrast to the majority of Lee's contemporaries, she aims to have her pieces reflect the culture and style of her native Shanghai. Most Asian labels choose to incorporate European elements into their pieces, borrowing from the houses of Lanvin, Marni and Miu Miu.
This Autumn/Winter 2012 assembly instead focuses on Shanghai-based apparel with a specific look at its development from the time of the city's release of 1930s Communist-inspired apparel. The eclectic patterns and fabrics reveal a rich history of couture.
