'Harry Potter: Wizards Unite' previously launched in Australia and New Zealand and will debut in the UK and the US on June 21. The new game was developed by Niantic in collaboration with WB Games and Portkey Games and has been created on the same foundations as fan-favorite game Pokémon Go.
The game is free to download with some micro-transaction options. Its plot is to "investigate and contain" the "artifacts, beasts, people and even memories of the wizarding world" that are popping up worldwide. These pop-ups are referred to as 'Foundables' which need to be returned to the magical world. The game will feature "[c]uisine-servinces inns" to allow players to replenish energy and brew potions. This location-based style of the game allows players to have tactile experiences for an immersive adventure.
