Sometimes I have to wonder what inspires artists like Hank Schmidt in der Beek. I can envision the formulation of mimicking one's checkered shirt in paint, but why in the middle of fields and mountains? And why document it with photography? Then again, should I question something that is as awesome as this concept?
Entitled "In den Zillertaler Alpen," Hank Schmidt in der Beek is definitely a unique character. The photos even make it appear as though it's been shot back in the 70s. I'm actually reminded of those old painting instruction programs on TV where some old dude instructs you on how to paint scenic pictures.
