This Halloween cake recipe might look deeply unappetizing at first glance, but when you look a little closer, you'll see the black chocolate dessert is actually topped with spooky looking treats. Created by Courtney at the food blog Fork to Belly, the black chocolate Halloween cake is garnished with green-coated candy popcorn, candy corn and mini peanut butter cups. For added decoration, the blogger also added a festive topper reading 'Happy Halloween.'
The Halloween cake recipe is adapted from versions by Babble and How to Cake It!. To make your own ganache-covered layered cake at home, you'll need dark chocolate, black gel food coloring, cocoa powder, popped popcorn plus green and yellow food coloring. You can add other candy of your choice.
