February 2nd is just around the corner and that means people will soon learn whether or not winter will be staying for another long six weeks; whether celebrating good news or bad, the Groundhog Hot Dogs is the perfect dish to serve while in suspenseful wait. Absolutely adorable, the hot dog groundhog peaks its head over either a muffin, biscuit or mound of mashed potatoes.
Created by Sandra Denneler of She Knows, who also created recipes perfect for Cinco de Mayo, the Groundhog Hot Dogs are quite easy to make. Using white cheese, black olives, cream cheese, a black food coloring pen for the features, the hotdogs are baked first before being stuck into the middle of whatever base is chosen. The Kansas baker also has a groundhog dessert recipe.
