The GroceryAid School Essentials Grant has been announced by the organization to help provide families with children returning to school this month with a bit of financial help to ease the burden that could be placed on their finances. The grant will see each school-aged child who qualifies with £150 that could help immensely with uniforms and more. This could help to make the back-to-school season less of a strain on families as they transition into a new year.
GroceryAid Wellfare Director Mandi Leonard spoke on the GroceryAid School Essentials Grant saying, "We are delighted that GroceryAid’s School Essentials Grant has helped alleviate some of the financial strain on families as children finally start returning to school. On average families spend around £337 on secondary school uniform each year with primary school parents paying as much as £315 a year per child. It is important colleagues know that whilst this grant may have closed for this year, they may be eligible for other support that is still available.”
