Yoplait introduced Griego Max Protein, a bottled Greek yogurt drink in Mexico featuring leucine to support muscle growth and recovery. Each bottle delivers 18 grams of protein, 3.3 grams of carbohydrates, zero fat and 88 calories. The product is offered in two flavors: Strawberry and Café Latte.
Yoplait reinforced the formula with leucine rather than only increasing total protein, positioning the drink within active nutrition. Its listed protein-to-calorie ratio is closer to a protein shake than many protein bars, while retaining the thicker texture associated with Greek yogurt. The single-serve bottles are priced at 36 pesos, or about $2.12, and are rolling out in Mexican stores this month, including Walmart.
For consumers, the product offers a portable way to add more protein through a familiar dairy format. The combination of added leucine, low calories and two flavor options also gives Yoplait a more direct presence in the growing active-nutrition category.
