Grape desserts aren't often a popular meal when it comes to all things sweet; often times it is berries, apples, pears and the like that take the centre stage. However this recipe by The Kitchn offers a unique sweet treat that features roasted grapes toasted in walnut oil to create a delicious fruit compote filled with aromatic, fresh flavors.

While grapes are delicious raw and untouched, they make for great components to feature in desserts as well. This recipe slow roasts red grapes in walnut oil, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon and walnuts to turn the firm fruits into a deliciously soft, poached and saucy texture that pairs well with ice cream, goat cheese, mascarpone or even Greek yogurt.
