Bora Cakilkaya's Grandma Chair Accommodates Those With a Knitting Hobby

The Grandma Chair is almost as cute and quirky as the old ladies that inspired its design. It is a relatively simple seat, that is if one ignores the cluster of colorful drawers resting directly above it. Reminiscent of Seung Yong Song's space-saving chair, the Grandma Chair extends upwards to accommodate another useful function. Instead of a ladder, this piece of furniture boasts a mini asymmetrical cabinet that could hold varying knitting supplies.

Designed by Bora Çakilkaya, the Grandma Chair was inspired by her very own grandmothers, both of whom had crafty hobbies. For those who fear that the Grandma Chair would topple over due to its top-heaviness, Cakilkaya made sure to extend one of the bottom legs to distribute the weight.
