Robotic Nursing Assistants

Grace the Robot Promises to Transform Senior Care

Hanson Robotics, the creator of Sophia the Robot, is introducing Grace the robot as a robotic nursing assistant to transform the senior care market in 2022 and beyond. Devoted to taking care of the sick and elderly, Grace is a social robot that is capable of giving therapy sessions and providing social stimulation in several languages, including English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

The human-like robot was developed with the aid of artificial intelligence solutions firm Singularity Studio and the bot is equipped with heat-sensitive sensors and a camera to read patients’ temperatures and pulses. Although Grace is not intended to replace vital frontline workers, the robot has the potential to collect valuable data and make the lives of nurses and doctors easier.

Robotic Nursing Assistants
The increasing demand for elderly care and shortage of nursing staff creates an opportunity for the development of robotic nursing assistants that can support the work of human caregivers.
AI-assisted Elderly Care
The use of AI solutions, such as heat-sensitive sensors and cameras, to monitor the health and wellbeing of the elderly has the potential to improve the quality of care and reduce the workload of healthcare workers.
Social Robots for Healthcare
The development of social robots, like Grace, that can provide therapy and social stimulation to patients can improve the mental and emotional health of elderly patients and reduce their sense of isolation.
