If you've ever fallen asleep while watching television only to be startled awake simply due to the volume level of the commercial, you'll love California state Rep. Anna G. Eshoo's bill. It's known as the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act (Bill H.R. 6209) and was introduced last June.
Marketers prefer to come up with a solution of their own rather than have the government get involved. I do agree with Ms. Eshoo, however; some infomercials can damage your eardrums. Wonder if they could intoduce a law inwhich the volume goes to mute when Miley Cirus or Barry Manilow try to sing, just a suggestion.
