These one-of-a-kind furniture designs are a result of technical expertise, craftsmanship and imagination. They are as bright, witty and innovative as their creator, Chase DeForest. I especially like the piece titled, Your Turn, which uses playing cards both inside and outside of the cabinet with dice for doorknobs. Another catchy form is the “Buffet,” with baseball bat legs and a glass-covered layer of baseballs for a top.

Trained in sculpture, DeForest fell in love with reclaimed building products. That love led her to explore furniture-making as art. The Seattle native now lives in Denver where she also makes her art.
