The Gizmodo ‘The Worst Tweets From the First Year of Twitter’ review brings 2006 concerns and thoughts back to the fore. That year marked the launch of Twitter, and it is all too amusing to chart the development of topics, hash tags and tweets from the time of the social network’s inception.
The search engine tool known as ‘Oldtweets’ allows users to sift through an array of seasoned 140 character long messages. Vintage posts that read “Myspace keeps me from going crazy…” and “Wondering how “Barack Hussein Obama” could ever hope to be president” reveal just how far society has progressed.
Contrasting today’s politics and technological developments with these queries and statements is comical in many regards, and is certainly a great throwback piece for those interested in the progression of online forums.
