Fruit Sustainability Partnerships

Fyffes and Future We Want Partnered for Fruit Education

Fyffes and Future We Want announced a new partnership in the UK to help support carbon literacy amongst youth in a fun, interactive way. The partnership comes in the form of a youth program entitled How Bad Are Bananas? that will be rolled out to 13 national youth organizations in the UK to help break down myths and offer data-driven insights. The program will help to dispel myths about fruit sustainability and will be complemented by The Bananas Game that uses data from the How Bad Are Bananas? book written by Mike Berners-Lee.

Director of Corporate Affairs Caoimhe Buckley commented on the Fyffes and Future We Want partnership saying, "There is a myth that tropical fruit is comparatively high carbon. What many don’t realise is that bananas are one of the most sustainable foods, with a relatively low carbon footprint. We’re thrilled to partner with Future We Want on this innovative initiative to engage young people in sustainability and climate awareness.”
