Made-to-Order Furniture Capsules

John Pawson and Dinesen Forms the Minimalist Furniture Capsule

British designer John Pawson works in collaboration with Dinesen to present the Pawson Furniture Capsule. The brand is one of the leading manufacturers of handmade wooden flooring and other products in Denmark and the new range is made-to-order. The pieces are designed to celebrate the relationship and collaborative work that has been occurring since 1992. The collection takes one of the brand's floorboards and turns it into the special Dining Series and complementary Lounge series.

Additionally, the Danish word image means to go beyond what is expected or thought as they broaden out and progress through the different designs. John Pawson notes, When I look at this new furniture collection for Dinesen, I see the essence of the thinking that has shaped my work since the beginning. Everything about these pieces is pared back to the logic and poetry of the wood. The dimensions of the timber determine the proportions of the forms, and then it’s all about the inherent sensory character of the material."
