Thanks to the Anthropologie x Dorothy Shain fun swimwear collaboration, gearing up for the warm summer months has never been more whimsical. The designs feature chromatic colors with confetti-like patterns, floral-embellished or ruched straps, abstract forms and fringed hem detailing.
A native of South Carolina, artist Dorothy Shain conceptualized the appearance of the fun swimwear collection as a series of mixed-media paintings that borrow shapes from the art deco movement, as well as shading styles and textures from the expressionist era. The pieces are available for purchase on Dorothy Shain's website; they depict swimwear shapes that were popularized in the 50s and 60s. Anthropologie extracted the silhouettes from the art works and breathed life into them as a whimsical collection of outgoing swimwear styles.
