John Pawson designs the new Foro table for the Spanish furniture company Viccarbe. It is an oak table that is inspired by Roman Forums and designed to encourage people to gather around and connect over food. It boasts minimal design language and is meant to invite better interactions and engagement. It has two versions in terms of the structure with the option of either a rectangular shape or a square.
The ancient culture of Roman forums is to create social conduct and financial activities. Speaking about the inspiration behind the Foro table, Viccarbe notes that ”This collaborative concept has been the starting point for the designer, materializing it into a versatile table intended for conversation, idea exchange, feasting and coming together."
