'Fonte Boa' Overlooks a Vineyard and Olive Grove in Portugal
Christopher Magsambol — November 2, 2015 — Art & Design
The 'Fonte Boa' house is a modern interpretation of a traditional Portuguese farmhouse. Located on a small estate, the house overlooks a vineyard and olive grove while maintaining breathtaking views of the Sicó and Espinhal mountains and the Rabaçal valley.
The long shape of the structure is a playful tribute to traditional Portuguese dwellings, through its unique window setup, zinc roof and concrete foundation. A simple color scheme of white walls and timber floors is used throughout the small interior. The living room features a wall-sized window that acts as the focal point of the space, allowing for clear views of the surrounding green space and valley in the distance. The Fonte Boa's furniture is all multi-use and is integrated with storage.
