The Florus Outdoor Garbage Receptacle attempts to be what so many others have before it. The public know, however, that attempts to prettify trash cans are seldom sufficiently successful. But without turning this rubbish bin into a sculpture or hiding it within another container, the Art Lebedev Studio has devised a delightful detritus-collecting alternative that combines a simple cylindrical canister and an elevated flower pot.

Waste can be inserted though a gap in the hinged door, largely concealing the litter inside. The crowning glory of the design is the planter up top that's intended to hold a lively species of greenery to cascade down the fixture's considerable height. This is the feature of the Florus Outdoor Garbage Receptacle that's meant to capture the attention of passers-by and reinforce the notion of freshness when it comes to keeping sidewalks tidy.
