Floating Faces

Vlad Nanca Makes Terrifying Black Terrorist Balloons

Normally if you mention balloons, happy images of children's parties, clowns, and the circus may drift into my mind. Russian artist Vlad Nanca has changed all that for me with the Terrorist Balloons.

These Terrorist Balloons are seriously scary. As they float about, you get the distinct impression that they are following you.

These balloons are scary, even if you don't suffer from globophobia.

Implications - Consumers are constantly bombarded with advertisements, rendering it difficult to determine all of the messages being directed towards them. However, when reappropriation or a remediation of mediums is used within ads, it allows consumers to relate that ad's message to knowledge they already possess. Companies who are seeking effective methods of advertising can utilize reappropriation to make their message memorable.
