Drone delivery company Flirtey will soon be conducting high-tech testing at the University of Nevada, with a view to getting its drone deliveries off the ground. Flirtey will be using the university's indoor flight test facilities to look into studying and refining the system, so that the company will be among the first off the mark if and when drone deliveries become a regulatory reality.
Flirtey will be the first to trial New Zealand's groundbreaking Airshare system, a drone hub that is looking into how to integrate commercial drones with other aircraft. The system includes a strict set of rules and regulations for flying drones.
While Flirtey will be the first to trial New Zealand's Airshare system, it will have to contend with Amazon and Google once drone delivery services become a reality.
