At first glance, the Flat Tower may look like some kind of perforated UFO ship. Yet, what it really is is a stunning and clever architectural concept that was designed to work with the land (not ravage and dominate it like some extraterrestrial believers may think).
Designed by Yoann Mescam, Paul-Eric Schirr-Bonnans, and Xavier Schirr-Bonnans, the Flat Tower was entered in this year's eVolo skyscraper competition. Proposed for the city of Rennes, France, the Flat Tower envelops a large green space, but works with it by collecting rainwater and sun in order function as a sustainable structure.
Spanning 800 meters, the Flat Tower will house recreational facilities, office spaces and more.
