Emergency Abuse-Fighting Apps

The 'Easy Rescue' App is Designed to Help Fight Domestic Violence

'Easy Rescue' is a Turkish app that helps victims of domestic violence seek safety and access emergency assistance. According to Forbes, over 800 women in Turkey have lost their lives in the past five years due to domestic violence. While this issue is often shrouded in stigma, the Easy Rescue app helps to provide a new source of support.

The app is designed for easy use and will be active as soon as a user shakes their smartphone. This feature is specifically deigned to ensure that abusers are not aware that the app is being used. Easy Rescue will then help victims by putting them in touch with hotlines and emergency services such as the police. Even though the app is relatively new, over 250,000 women have downloaded it and already 100,000 have used it.

The early success of the app is largely due to a successful marketing campaign, which informed women about the new app by embedding secret messages in the online content they were viewing.
