Zappos is tapping into the potential of Instagram by planning on sending recommendations to users who frequently take photos of themselves with the hashtag OOTD (outfit of the day).
To avoid annoying people who are not looking for these fashion recommendations from the e-commerce company, users must tag their photos with #NextOOTD. The best part is this entire process is completely personalized, so tips will be sent out based on one's style preferences and previous posts. The project is still in development mode, and apparently only a single person is behind it right now. Hopefully Zappos will take this idea to the next level and make personal shopping and Instagram much more collaborative.
