Designer Kurt Merki Jr. expresses nostalgia surrounding the comforting wood fire. Through his Falo Lamp, he conceived an icon and a symbol that emanates with all of the marvelous meaning which is gradually turning to ash.
The bright orange flames of a campfire or a hearth's golden glow in the home were once more necessities and a genuine comforts than they are in Western lifestyle today. This abstract floor lamp was created to serve as a reminder of the old respect people had for fire, standing tall and assertive as a visually striking tangle of sticks.
The form mimics that of a bonfire but it's expressed with a contemporary minimalism, cleanliness and class. The Falo Lamp's LED illumination beams from thin strips along each intertwined branch, casting a diffuse luminescence from a corner, or even within a converted fireplace.
