Workable Facial Recognition Software

IsItYou Could Make Face Recognition Authentication Mainstream

This m-commerce company hopes to make face recognition authentication actually work. IsItYou just launched at Disrupt SF 2014 and boasts a significantly small rate of failure. Other facial recognition software won't work 2 or 3 times out of 10, while IsItYou has a ratio of about 2 or 3 in 10,000 according to its founder Benjamin Levy.

Levy also claims IsItYou has two distinguishable advantages over Google face recognition authentication technology: it's unimpeded by extreme light conditions and anti-spoofing tools that make it difficult to tamper with algorithms. According to TechCrunch, IsItYou takes into account how lighting interacts with your face so it can't be tricked by things like a picture of your visage. To demonstrate, a 3D printed model of Levy's face was also rejected by the program.
