At the heart of this exotic and sustainable clutch is Glocal Connection, an entity that connects indigenous artisans and entrepreneurs to the market.

Glocal Connection has partnered with Kem Ajachel, a collective based in Guatemala that uses traditional techniques to produce authentic Mayan handicrafts. The final products are all made locally in Guatemala with guarantee of fair treatment of labor. It is an example of a truly sustainable business; more than 70 people (majority women) are employed under its umbrella. In fact, during peak demand season, employment grows by almost 50%.

The brain behind Glocal Connection, Miss. Yenifer, emphasized the relationship that anyone can have with Kem Ajachel and Glocal Connection. "People really have the opportunity to be part of our journey just by accessorizing with our products," she said.
