Designed by DecaArchitecture, the Euphoria Spa is Carved into a Mountain
Kalina Ned — September 30, 2019 — Art & Design
The Euphoria spa is a unique wellness retreat, located in Mystras, Greece. The destination merges holistic practices and serene environments. The experience is affected by nature and touched by expressive architecture. The Euphoria spa is sure to be a popular destination with locals and tourists as it is carved into the base of a mountain, nestled between a "cypress forest and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mystras."
When creating the visual language of the space, DecaArchitecture focused on finding balance. The studio worked extensively to produce a sculptural interior that brought together "[the] peaceful and [the] subversive, [the] meditative and [the] hallucinatory, [the] orderly and [the] free-flowing."
The arched, tunnel-like setting of the Euphoria spa surely contributes to the experience as well. The aesthetic is touched by contemporary values and sensibilities that are forward in luxury.
