Mitsubishi Enters the EV Marketplace with the 2010 i-MiEV

The Mitsubishi i MiEV Sport Air concept car is to be unveiled in Geneva this March, but Mitsubishi’s i MiEV 2010 all-electric hatchback is already here. It is set for introduction to the Japanese market later this year. Mitsubishi hopes to bring it to the US market ‘soon.’ A gasoline version is currently for sale in Japan. 

The i MiEV is quiet and spacious and has better acceleration than the gasoline-only model. It’s shorter than an Mini Cooper on the outside, but has a roomier interior. The gasoline version gets 50 mpg. The electric version has a 100 mile range promises to be a contender for the limited dollars of eco-conscious urban consumers.
