Boeing and Porsche are currently collaborating to produce a concept for an electric flying car, which will be able to take off and land vertically. The two companies have also stated intentions to build and test a prototype for the electric flying car.
In addition to building and testing a prototype, the organizations will look at the current landscape of air mobility which will assess the viability of a market for flying cars in the future. In order to asses the hypothetical flying car market, Porsche and Boeing will build an international team.
The interest in a potential urban air market comes from a study conducted by Porsche in 2018, which predicts an emerging air mobility market after the year 2025.
