This Electric Diwheel With Active Rotation Damping, or EDWARD for short, is one in a long line of green vehicles where riders have to sit inside large wheels... only this one has two!
Designed by folks at The University of Adelaide, the EDWARD can reach top speeds of 40km/hr, is operated using joysticks, and can even allow users to ride upside down for a whole new perspective on the world. The vehicle is also an eco-conscious alternative to the mean gas guzzlers that currently dominate the streets.
I'm not going to lie -- I really want to drive this thing. It will be like living out my childhood fantasy of driving a car upside down, just like that one scene in the movie Men In Black. The only thing that could potentially be holding this vehicle back from widespread popularity is its cumbersome Electric Diwheel With Active Rotation Damping name.
