There's no question that the state of Egyptian human rights has been a massive cause for concern in recent years, which is precisely why the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms has launched an innovative new smartphone app that is designed to help identify and locate human rights and democracy activists who have been subjected to extra-judicial kidnappings and abductions by security personnel.
The app, dubbed I Protect, is designed to send a notification message to a selected trio of friends and contacts as well as the Egyptian Commission for Rights and Freedoms as well when an individual is abducted, making it possible to figure out their location.
The I Protect app is a wonderful example of app technologies helping to preserve human rights, thanks to the increasing proliferation of smartphones in every corner of the globe.
