O Boticário's EGEO Cogu Entices Gen Z with an Unconventional Accord

Mushroom-infused formulas are all over the beauty space, and O Boticário launched EGEO Cogu and EGEO Cogu Mellow in the USA to share the world's first fragrance created with the Boletus Edulis mushroom. Available in two distinct versions, this perfume pairs an earthy mushroom accord with gourmand notes. "We identified this ingredient as an emerging trend closely connected to Gen Z, and saw an opportunity to deliver unprecedented innovation and sensory experiences," said Carolina Carrasco, O Boticário's Branding and Communication Director.

Boletus Edulis—also known as porcini—has rich, earthy, and nutty aromatic qualities with subtle notes of wood, damp forest floor, and a hint of sweetness. EGEO Cogu is an oriental fruity fragrance that pairs this unconventional, culinary-inspired accord with blackberry, raspberry pulp, redcurrant, caramel, and crème brûlée. The similarly decadent EGEO Cogu Mellow takes the form of a fruity gourmand with the essence of Madagascar vanilla and pear smoothie.
