This Eco-Friendly Collection Was Created with a Zero Waste Process

This eco-friendly collection was designed with diligent experimentation with the design potentials of seaweed.

Created by 'Studio Nienke Hoogvliet,' these two furniture pieces were the result of two years of researching, studying and experimenting with seaweed in the construction of yarn, textile dye, paint and bio plastic. The 'Seame Collection' is what was created as a result of this process and consists of a chair and stool -- both made of seaweed. Each step in the process of making this eco-friendly collection contributed to the next -- with waste from the construction of one aspect being used to make another.

With its focus on zero waste and producing items from natural materials, Studio Nienke designed a furniture collection that is eco-friendly, stylish and functional.
