Britain-based Green Spirit Creations is using cardboard discarded from local shops to produce a range of eco-conscious lamps.
Its 'Cover Lamp' is a two-dimensional replica of a typical table lamp made from cardboard boxes acquired from local stores. The 'Golden Cube' is a cube-shaped lamp that uses cardboard that has been cut into intricate patterns. It also has a 100% recyclable plastic casing that houses the bulb.
The company decided to produce the lamps out of a desire to create eco-conscious products. Cardboard discarded by stores was seen as the perfect material to use because recycling cardboard helps minimizes transportation and material re-processing costs.
The eco-conscious lamps are not the only products Green Spirit Creations is fashioning out of recyclable materials; the company also offers a cardboard wine rack, a jean bag made from old jeans and a pendant lamp made using plastic cups.
