Two students from Christ College, India have designed a washing machine model made from recycled materials. Named the Eco-Wash, the upcycled washing machine is not only eco-friendly but also energy-efficient.
Eco-Wash features a pulley which moves with the help of kinetic energy and therefore no electricity is required. The designers are now planning to give their ideas to some leading garment manufacturers in India in hopes to promote greener cleaning.
Implications - Eco-conscious consumers are constantly searching for new ways to incorporate green habits into their lifestyles. Products that are manufactured with upcycled materials, and function in an environmentally sound way appeal to these consumers since they help them reduce their carbon footprints. Companies striving to appeal to the growing green demographic should manufacture products with these qualities.
