These Ecological Frames are Inspired by Chinese Divination

These brass eco frames were inspired by the Chinese divination text 'I Ching' and are designed by Huy Bui.

Each of these frames holds a piece of carefully cut piece of asymmetrical wood. The frames are on display at Patrick Parish and are entitled the 'Topo Installation.' Some of the frames on display in this unique installation also feature small plants like cacti -- an allusion to ecology and Huy Buy's other work, which often showcases micro-ecosystems.

The beautiful installation seeks to "explore the relationship between architecture and ecology" and uses a modern, simplistic design -- along with the incorporation of natural elements -- to do this. The end result is an installation that makes the viewer think about their ecological footprint while simultaneously hoping for a home decor version of this installation.
