The recently announced eBay Authenticate program will help buyers make sure the luxury jewelry they're buying is in fact real. This is the latest department to be added to eBay Authenticate, which launched in 2017 with handbags and later expanded into watches. According to eBay, over 50,000 pieces of jewelry are sold on the site every day, so this inclusion was a logical step for the platform to ensure buyer protection.
In addition to the eBay Authenticate program, eBay will also list 45,000 professionally verified diamonds and gemstones to the platform for the holiday season. Some of the items that have already been authenticated include wedding rings, loose diamonds, and vintage jewelry. According to eBay, all the pieces come from top-rated sellers and have been verified by third-party authentication experts.
