The E Ink ePaper Trackpad Maximizes Productivity

— July 3, 2025 — Tech
The E Ink ePaper trackpad has been developed as a way to maximize productivity for laptop users that incorporates a secondary display into the user experience. The trackpad technology works by being installed in place of a conventional trackpad where it will go to work acting as a supplemental display when not in use for mouse navigation purposes. This will work well for users who use supplemental mouse peripherals and will only draw power when the display is refreshed to maximize power efficiency.

JM Hung spoke on the E Ink ePaper trackpad saying, "With the development tools and reference architecture provided by the Intel® Smart Base ecosystem, we've created ultra-slim, energy-efficient modules optimized for AI PC designs. These modules enable seamless integration of ePaper displays into laptop touchpad areas – delivering crisp visuals, low power consumption, and a novel interactive experience."
