There is a popular architectural and interior design style that's based on exposing the working components of a building. Some people are so drawn to this raw and revealing industrial aesthetic that the Duct Lighting System will certainly appeal to them.
Jacob Nitz has proposed taking cylindrical duct work with its spiraling metal detailing and turning it into large-room illuminating solutions. The tubes would have wide slits cut along their bottoms so that long fluorescent lightbulbs can be inset and allowed to beam out.
The Duct Lighting System is of course quite contemporary and iconic, but some effort would be made to give the pieces a subtler impression. They would be painted in matte black or white for a minimalist and tidy appearance.
